January 30, 2019: Both Boeing and Airbus are investing big $$$ in the development and testing for flying cars — both to carry passengers and parcels! Estimates are this could eventually be a $3 Trillion industry — with ride share giant Uber investing with Boeing for a “flying taxi!” Uber seems to have trouble navigating ride share on the ground — not sure how safe flying with them would be????
January 29, 2019: Yup — many airlines are now charging travelers an extra “Up Front Seating Fee” if you want to sit closer to the front — seems excessive especially with airline profits are record highs. Bathroom fees next? Maybe a camper-style port-a-potty is in order???
January 28, 2019: Airbnb, not a TC favorite, is dramatically rising its rental rates to users on both ends — for renters and for folks who list properties. The increases are coming from Airbnb’s new owners — EXPEDIA — who already own nearly 2 dozen of the internets most used travel booking and review sites —potential users need to check around and book rooms elsewhere!!!
January 18, 2019: Apple’s eyes are on China for growth this year — so much so that they have committed to buy a minimum of 50 business class tickets a day for their employees to travel to China on United —BIG $$$$ for United!!!
January 17, 2019: The current government shut down is quickly changing travel plans — and not just from the long (and getting longer) TSA airport lines — nearly 20% of potential travelers planning winter holidays are canceling their plans — as the shut down continues, travel cancelations are expected to increase. No travel winners here!!!
January 16, 2019: Delta is changing it’s flight boarding order based on how much your ticket costs — ticket costs on most flights can represent over a dozen different prices and fares — higher priced fare holders board first — low cost super economy fares bring up the end of the line. Shameful way to treat customers!!!
January 15, 2019: Never easy to find and buy beer in some Middle Eastern Cities — if you can find a place to buy beer in QATAR a six pack will set you back $26! The price for a case, if you can find one, will set you back over $100. Drink slowly!!!
The human heart, being transported from Dallas to Seattle on a Southwest flight, was left behind — not off loaded — in the planes cargo hold area on arrival at Seattle. 90 minutes later the plane flew off to another destination. When the crew was informed — over an hour into the flight, they told passengers they were returning to Seattle to deliver the precious cargo — you just have to wonder how these things happen?
January 11, 2019: Could be — TSA reports they pick up at least 9 loaded guns a day at US airports — travelers passing through security lines seem to “have forgotten” they have the guns or “accidentally” left them in a bag? Even more unloaded guns are found by TSA daily!
