June 6, 2015: Check out the Southwest Airlines piece featured this week on Twitter—again highlighting the low-level management thinking of those executives who run the major U.S. carriers these days. Shame on Southwest for not being “up and ready” on the technical end for not being able to handle the consumer online onslaught for the sale they created!!! This is not their first time at launching a short fuse airfare sale and they certainly have the expertise—or did—to manage the booking process. This “last minute sale” (which they did extend to appease those who couldn’t book because their system was overwhelmed) show the Curmudgeon that bookings are soft for the upcoming summer and fall travel seasons—so pay attention and watch for more last minute sales both domestic and international. Saddle up and be ready to fly!!!
With one-way fares to many destinations as low as $50!
Our sale is causing high demand on http://t.co/qJUDbsTE7y. All hands are on deck to resolve site issues.
