Delta recently flew a wide body plane from London to the USA with NO PASSENGERS — but full in the belly and passenger seating areas with hundreds of misconnected bags!!! Domestic flights are somewhat better BUT still have hundreds of bags daily that miss flights — hope for the best but be prepared to launch your own “baggage search and rescue” plan!!!
Give yourself a break, allow extra time for connecting flights — in more “sane times” airlines said 40 minutes was adequate, but in current times we say allow a minimum of 90 minutes for connecting domestic flights. If the connection is through an international airport then you should allow a minimum of 90 minutes to 2 hours. If the international airport connection requires a secondary security check, then add even more connecting time — and “hope for the best” with your bags connecting!!!

Some months American makes more in profit from selling frequent flyer miles — to travelers and retail promotion partners — than flying passengers!! One would think it would be the other way around???
Yup— US carriers say, “business class travel is way off,” causing just another “revenue bump” in recovery projections. Their response will most likely be to charge even higher prices for business class seats. Inflation is certainly “alive and well” in the airline biz!!!
American! So far this year they’ve lost more than 450,000 lost checked bags. Most “eventually” show up. SOUTHWEST has the best record for not losing your checked bag — Southwest says they don’t charge passengers for bag checks, but there is a cost and it’s in your ticket price!!! And they check more bags than any other US airline!!!
