According to the Curmudgeon’s extensive testing and burger traveler comments — best “ground” and inflight burger award goes to American. Some American Club locations serve food and recognition goes to their Clubs at JFK for the best tasting burger. And inflight, only competitor seems to be United — with American “buns up” the best!!!

Venice to charge day trip visitors …

YUP — starting next year, Venice will begin charging day trip visitors a fee — with “hefty fines” if you get caught by authorities without showing you paid. Folks staying in hotels will have the cost added into their lodging bills — logistic details are still being worked out with some discounts if you visit on slower days. Look for other popular European destinations to watch carefully as “day tripper” fees may show up in other cities???

Salt & Straw Ice Cream tests “Perfume” on Ice Cream?

The popular nationwide ice cream chain calls their experiment “culinary perfume” – available in three aroma’s – cocoa, citrus and floral. Although tasters say it adds no aroma to the already flavored ice cream, that’s because both the perfume and ice cream are so COLD they knock out the smell — adding perfume flavors to your scoop can add up to $65 to your already expensive visit … the TC “bets against” this “cool” experiment catching on.
