How the Travel Industry refers to Travel/Travelers during the Summer this year?

Revenge Travel — That’s what both airlines and passengers are calling their airport and airline travel experiences these days. with 4th of July weekend’s 21,000+ delays and cancelations — from weather to pilot and staff shortages that all came together — lines were long (many out to the streets in front of airports) and patience short! Add to the frustration airline fares up as much a 40% — and most likely going up even higher — you have the “perfect storm” for travelers, airports and airlines — pack your patience .. and your wallet $$$$!!!

Delta Flight delayed over 9 Hours …

The flight — a 757 from Seattle to Kona — was delayed over 9 hours because the pilot — although qualified to fly the older 757 (a very uncomfortable) aircraft was not qualified to fly over water. Not the first time this had happened to Delta and other carriers.  Maybe the airlines need to slow down their “race” to profits and think more about better service???

Rough Summer for Airline Travel …

Carriers prepare as travel demand is up up up — BUT so are flight cancelations. Staff shortages — both on the ground and in the air — high fuel prices and maybe some aviation fuel “availability” issues at airports, and unforeseen weather issues. Already this year the rate of flight cancelations is six times what airlines planned for … no quick fix on the horizon — not sure the airlines or travelers can see the horizon at this point???

Venice Fights off another big invasion … this time SEAGULLS!

Yup — Venice has never got along with the city’s “feathered residents.” Pigeons have long been a problem and now a new airborne pesky menace joins the gang – Seagulls charging unsuspecting tourists! Some outdoor dining venues are handing out water pistols or bamboo sticks to “swat off” the unwelcome overhead guests. Visitors say the birds are clever and don’t go away easily!!! Heads Up!

New Way to Sightsee Alaska

How about looking at the Alaska landscape by bush mail plane. You can ride along and help deliver mail, food and other essentials to seven small towns within a 110 miles radius of Fairbanks. The 2-3 hour journey costs around $200 a seat and showcases everything from snowy mountains to frozen rivers and colorful forests — and maybe even a few locals you’ll meet along the way who meet the plane!!! Check out Warbelow Air Adventures for a fun and inexpensive way to ride along over the treetops!!!!

Italy is now open for travelers!

Yup — Italy has dropped all travel requirements for visitors planning Italian holidays. There might still be mask requirements on various transportation (ferries, trains, bus, etc. ) around the country — as well as airline mask requirements — but no need to show vaccination status on arrival or departure … Chow Bella!!!
