Airfares heading even higher …
Yup — up up up more than 33% so far this year — and look for another increase going in to an already heavily booked summer travel season. YIKEEEEES!!!
Alaska “Joins Forces” with Disneyland
Why did the Pelican Cross the Taxiway?
A recent Alaska flight was briefly delayed in San Diego as a Pelican blocked the taxiway and they had to wait for airport police to drive it away. Just goes to show the level of service Alaska will go to treat fellow flyers. Wonder how Southwest would have handled it?
Airport Sets Up Traps to Turtle-Proof Runway?
Yup — Narita International Airport once again has added traps to a nearby reservoir to stop turtles from walking on to a runway and disrupting flight schedules. Turtles have measured more than a foot long and result in the airports runway closing until they can be herded off!!!
Will Palm Springs Sink New Surf Parks?
With four new surf parks currently on the drawing boards, along with 4 new golf courses – and California in the midst of a serious water shortage crisis – locals may rally against any new developments that require “massive” new water hook ups — ka-wa-bunga!!!
Curmudgeon says “Airline ticket Prices will continue to go up and schedules will decrease.”
Yup, the combination of higher fuel prices (fuel up more than 140% from last year) and more travel demand will result in your airline tickets costing even more! The average airline ticket price in March (up more than 40 % from a year ago) was $540 — even though travel demand is up up up! But airline costs and staffing issues still a problem. Look for a 10-15% reeducation in schedules late spring and summer — could be some bumpy travel coming up???

Could this be true?
