Starting this year, Alaska will be adding service to Belize — Look for service from many of Alaska’s west coast hubs!!!

United Airlines MileagePlus members can win free flights by uploading their proof of vaccination to its mobile app by June 22. They call it “Your Shot To Fly.” Ha ha ha.

The airline will give away a prize each day in June: a roundtrip flight for two, valid for premium class of service to any United destination. On July 1 they will award 5 sweepstakes winners a grand prize of a year of travel, valid for premium cabin to any United destination. Cruise holidays are back — with most cruise lines set to operate in the summer — most starting in July from US ports (vaccinations required) and capacity on individual cruises to be around 50% to start —  many lines requiring daily COVID testing as well as many of the daily stops. Know the requirements before booking!!!

U.S. Airlines May Start Weighing Passengers At The Gate

U.S. airlines may need to start weighing passengers in order to comply with FAA rules. For safety reasons, carriers need to calculate an aircraft’s weight and balance, and it has to be within allowable limits for the plane. However the assumptions they’ve been using for passengers are outdated. Americans are getting fatter, and the federal government wants airlines to find out how much fatter their passengers have gotten, at least for smaller aircraft.

Yup — TSA says US daily travel now exceeds 1.5 MILLION passengers a day — even with higher fares, people are anxious to get out and about …!!!

Airline industry trade groups now say worldwide will exceed more than $38 BILLION in 2021. Currently over 80% of the WORLD is considered a “no fly zone” for international travel … but with rapid vaccination rates on the upswing, could that change this year? Fasten your seat belts and hang on!!!

Record demand for UBER service finds the once again popular (and needed) rideshare service looking for help. Uber says bookings for March hit an annual return rate that could exceed 30 BILLION for the year … Uber food delivery service reached an “all time high” (up over 150%) that could deliver the company $52 BILLION in revenue —  look for substantial signup bonuses and other perks!!!
