Take American as an example — in 2019 they made 538 MILLION DOLLARS selling their frequent flyer miles online and with branded consumer promotions — not bad revenue with NO flying expenses!!!

Maybe — Greek government and tourism officials are saying they might be ready to “open” to world travelers as soon as May!!!  Of course, they said about the same thing last year too — but that was pre-vaccine — we’ll see!!!

No kidding — Delta had to cancel over 100 flights over Easter Week because they ran out of pilots, and major carrier computer reservation systems shut down for time on Easter Monday with a system glitch or overload. If America wants to travel … MAYBE transportation systems need more time to catch up???

Maybe — the Convention Bureau tells FOX Business News that several conventions — with 5,000 or more in attendance — are looking to confirm for late summer and fall of this year! This question is — will convention folks actually show???

With US travel and flights done, airline complaints to the Federal Government are up nearly 560% — last year over 102,000 airline travel complaints were logged by the Federal Government — up from 15,000+ the previous year!! One bright spot last year, airline “one-time” arrivals went up to over 84% from the year before, with of course a lot less flights. Frontier took the record for the highest complaint rate for the number of passengers carried with good ole Southwest the fewest complaints for passengers carried. The complaint heard most often involved ticket REFUNDS and not an airline CREDIT!! What happens when you one year credit expires — guess we’ll soon find out????

Yup — in the midst of this pandemic travel decline, a group of investors have US Government approval to launch a new domestic airline — Breeze Air, based in Salt Lake City, will launch later this year — the new carrier will have two dozen aircraft — routes, schedules and ticket prices to come — all indications are that Breeze will sail into service with very low ticket prices — stand by for take off!!!

Amazon is rolling out its own fleet of 767 all freight aircraft to not only act as its own package delivery service but will now compete with FedEx and UPS for consumer package delivery …..will their next “air venture” include passengers???

Experienced travelers might know this already — use your in room hair dryer to warm up food — don’t get the dryer too close if you plan to use later for your hair!!!

… until fall of this year. Most carriers, especially those serving Asia, Australia, New Zealand, say they are looking to later in the year for regular service. Some countries in Europe are starting to open — slowly — as is more domestic service here in the US!!!  Even if you have had Covid vaccines, WEAR A MASK!!!!
