Yup — the Kansas City Chief’s charter flight from KC to Boston arrived on time in Boston  with the teams luggage and equipment — but not all was  off-loaded. The flight and much of the Chief’s equipment went on to Newark. UAL was able to find the misplaced NFL and player equipment and get it back to Boston — arriving only an hour before their game with the Patriots.  Chiefs went on to win — just goes to show, no matter who you are, some times checked luggage and associated “stuff” is a gamble to arrive with you.  

Yup — in late November American set record at their Dallas-Ft. Worth hub by operating one thousand departures in 24-hours — that’s a lot of airplanes and people in the system — as well as AA ground and airport staff making it all happen — and keeping travelers happy??

Here’s a couple of examples: Every American Airline flight from Dallas to London brings in $173,000 in profit to the airline. One of American’s most popular and heavily traveled routes, DFW to LAX, generates more than $328 million dollars a year to the American bottom line.  And Qantas 6-times-a-week service from DFW to Australia brings in $628,000 weekly — and that adds up to $428 MILLION A YEAR for the airline.

Looks like the airlines have figured out how to charge passengers enough to make themselves a nice profit on almost every flight — as well as provide less service and smaller seats!  Go figure?

These 3 US airlines offer you the best chance to be bumped:  Spirit; Frontier and Alaska …. no surprise from Spirit and Frontier — but whats going on with Alaska — usually one of the top service carriers in the US?

… Just in the US last year, over one million flights were delayed — impacting 1 in 5 arrivals!  And worldwide, over 22 million pieces of luggage were mis-handled.   And don’t forget there were over 20 hurricanes and 21 major named storms in the Atlantic and North Pacific. Be prepared to be patient — especially during the holiday season!!!

Yup — thats how many folks worldwide now find themselves in an Airbnb rental room — watch for some new restrictions on Airbnb rentals for people listing their property — maybe even an onsite inspection prior to listing approval?

Yup — world airlines combined now offer more than 44,000 flights a day — and this number will grow even more next year!!!

A large number of protestors from the Extinction Rebellion environmentalist group have been causing dire trouble at London City Airport (LCY). One person glued himself to the top of a British Airways Embraer jet at the airport.

Always under construction SFO has opened part of their new Terminal One remodel — adding more gates, food choices and a new Hilton Hotel. Hotel prices around the SFO area are already overly over-priced and no reason to expect the new Hilton to be any different.
