The flight — a 757 from Seattle to Kona — was delayed over 9 hours because the pilot — although qualified to fly the older 757 (a very uncomfortable) aircraft was not qualified to fly over water. Not the first time this had happened to Delta and other carriers. Maybe the airlines need to slow down their “race” to profits and think more about better service???
