June 29, 2016: The Long Beach Aquarium in California is worth a visit. Well, laid out, with both inside and outside sea life attractions, along with numerous staff along the way manning educational touch and feel exhibits. The shark tank was a little disappointing (a variety of smaller sharks) but the sting ray exhibits made up for it — along with the opportunity for an up close “touch and feel” experience. Go before noon when the season pass holders invade — adjacent covered parking is $8 — bring your own food and especially beverages to enjoy in the outside picnic areas. Inside, a small bottle of water costs over $4 and the wait at the Starbucks sponsored coffee and pastry stop painfully — really painfully — slow. The TC wants to know: How does a small bottle of water, needed on hot days, have to be so over priced?
