Onboard coffee makers are very fickle pieces of equipment — can cost between $7,000 and $20,000 a unit — are electrical and, if not operating properly, can cause fires and aircraft circuit issues. Planes like a 737 can have 4 separate coffee makers — and a 777 a dozen or more. Wonder where the water comes from that go into the coffee makers?
