Holding your newly booked flight reservation for 24 hours and not charging you for the hold — for many years a standard airline practice to hold a new flight reservation for 24 hours at no cost — maybe not “so standard” now in these days of airlines looking for extra revenue fees and less passenger services!!!
Alaska Loses the Plastic Cups
Alaska Airlines is the first airline to fully eliminate plastic cups on board and has switched to responsibly-sourced paper cups and reusable glassware for first-class. The change removes 55 million plastic cups annually, and will save more than 2.2 million pounds of plastic from landfills a year.
Disneyland brings back its Southern California Resident Pass
After years of increasing rates, monetizing previously free services (Fastpass to Genie+), and further paywalling guest experiences (Magic Key), Disney is finally offering a discount, if you live close enough that is. For just $73 per day, SoCal Residents can now purchase a 3-day ticket at Disneyland and California Adventure good for any weekday until May 25th (as long as there’s enough reservations available).
Flying with your pet?
Although many airlines have eliminated allowing passengers to bring their pets on board with their flight, be sure to check and know what it will cost if you do. Some airlines are charging as much as $1500 for the “pleasure” of your pet joining you!!!
American Airlines kills the Dreaded turkey …
After years of passenger and crew complaints, American has taken their unpopular turkey sandwich off all inflight flight food service menus — “thank you” American for finally listening!!!
It may cost you for an airline seat assignment??
Be aware that some US and foreign airlines are now CHARGING EXTRA if you want a seat assignment —prices could range from $15 – to over $100 if your flight is considered international. You can check the airlines online site or, better yet, give them a call!!!

Good News for Jersey!
Looks like the State of New Jersey is going to pass a law “that requires all hotels operating in the state to provide daily room housekeeping” — maybe starting a national trend???

The best:
- Minneapolis-St Paul
- San Francisco International (really?)
- JFK New York and Detroit Metro tied for third place!
And at the bottom of the satisfaction list:
- Newark Liberty International
- Chicago O’Hare
- Los Angeles International (always under construction)!!!
